Day 1 – Sunday, October 16, 2022
Depart on your flight from Newark to Tel Aviv, Israel
Day 2 - Monday, October 17, 2022 - Tel Aviv
Upon arrival to Tel Aviv airport, you will be met by our representatives to claim your luggage and connect with your guide. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 3 – Tuesday, October 18, 2022 - Caesarea Maritima, Mt. Carmel, Cana - Tiberias
We begin our day with a visit to Caesarea Maritima. Here, we will visit the Roman theater, Herod's Palace & Crusader citadel. It is here that St. Peter baptized the first Gentile convert to Christianity. Is is also here that St. Paul was held in prison for two years. We will then continue to Mt. Carmel to visit the Cave of the Prophet Elijah and the site of the founding of the Carmelite Order. Our next stop will be Cana of Galilee where we will celebrate Mass and have the reaffimation of marriage vows for our married couples. We will then continue to our Tiberias hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 4 – Wednesday, October 19, 2022 - Nazareth & Mt. Tabor - Tiberias
We begin our day in Nazareth where we will visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the place where the Angel appeared to Our Blessed Mother and announced the birth of Jesus. We will celebrate Mass here. We will also visit the Church of St. Joseph, believed to be his carpentry shop. We will then have lunch at the Holy Land restaurant before we continue to Mt. Precipice, the brow of the hill on which the city was built. Next we will go to Mt. Tabor where the Transfiguration of the Lord took place. We then return to our Tiberias hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5 – Thursday, October 20, 2022 - Galilee - Tiberias
This morning, we start on the Mount of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount was given. We will celebrate Mass here. We will then go to St. Peter's Primacy, the place where Jesus appeared to the disciples the third time after the Resurrection. We then continue to Capharnaum to visit the ancient Jewish synagogue and the house of St. Peter's mother-in-law, followed by lunch that will feature the traditional "St. Peter's Fish" at Pilgerhaus. We will then visit Magdala, the hometown of St. Mary Magdalene before we visit the Ancient boat (a two-thousand year old wooden boat) and conclude our day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 6 – Friday, October 21, 2022 - Desert - Jerusalem
We start our day at the Baptismal Site (Qasr Al Yehoud) where Jesus was baptized and celebrate Mass. We will then continue to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Lunch is on our own with time to shop for Dead Sea products. We will conclude our day at the Dead Sea where you will get a chance to float in this unique body of water. We conclude at our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 7 – Saturday, October 22, 2022 - Bethlehem
We begin our day with Mass and a visit at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem where Jesus was born. We will then visit the Shepherd's Fields where the angels appeared to the Shepherd and announced the birth of Jesus. After lunch at Cheers Restaurant, we will stop at a Christian Store in Bethlehem for you to shop for olive wood products and other souvenirs before we return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. Day 8 – Monday, October 23, 2022 - Jerusalem
We begin our day on the Mount of Olives with an orientation of the city of Jerusalem. We will then start walking to the church of the Dominus Flevit, the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. We then continue walking on the Palm Sunday Walk towards Gethsemane where we will celebrate Mass. This afternoon we then continue to St. Anne's / Bethesda Pools the location where Jesus healed the crippled man. You will also have a chance to sing. At the Church of St. Anne, traditional site of the birthplace of Our Lady with magnificent acoustics. We will continue to the Chapel of the Flagellation where Our Lord was flogged as He started walking the Via Dolorosa. We then conclude the day and proceed to the convent of the Ecce Homo to view the pavement where He was sentenced by Pilate. (B, D)
Day 9 – Monday, October 24, 2022 - Jerusalem
We begin our day walking the Via Dolorosa towards the Church of the Holy Sepulcher where Our Lord was crucified, buried and was resurrected to celebrate Mass. We will then proceed to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the house of the high priest Caiaphas and visit the Sacred Pit where Our Lord was held the night He was arrested. You will then have some free time to explore Jerusalem on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 10 – Tuesday, October 25, 2022 - Jerusalem, Ein Karem, flight to USA
We begin our day with a visit to the Western Wall, holiest site in the world for the Jews where you can put your prayers. We will visit Mt. Zion where the Dormition Abbey, the place where we remember the eternal sleep of Our Lady and the Cenacle (the Upper Room / David's Tomb) are located. We then visit Ein Karem to celebrate Mass at the Church of the Visitation where Our Blessed Mother visited her cousin Elizabeth before we continue to the church of St. John the Baptist where St. John was born. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant before heading to the airport for a night flight home. (B, D)
OPTIONAL JORDAN EXTENSION:
Day 11 – Wednesday, October 26, 2022 - Jordan
We begin our day with Mass at Notre Dame Hotel in Jerusalem before making our way to the border crossing with Jordan. Our Tour begins in Jordan at the Baptismal site on the Jordan side. We will then have lunch as Mazayen restaurant in Madaba. Then we will visit Madaba Church with the famous Byzantine period mosaic showing the city of Jerusalem amongst other locations. We then continue to Mt. Nebo where Moses stood to view the Promised Land. We then drive to our hotel in Petra for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 12 – Thursday, October 27, 2022 - Petra
After breakfast, we being a long day with a visit to Petra. The 'rose red city half as old as time". This ancient Edomite and Nabatean capital is an amazing example of prophecy. We'll see the spectacular 'city of the dead', with its famed gorge, ancient streets, temples, dwelling places and tombs, carved in the solid rock. Then we arrive at El-Ji Post, and contue the one-mile journey on horseback, or walk, passing through the famous Siq (the natural gorge) and arrive at the Treasury. We will celebrate Mass at a location TBD before we have lunch at Crowne Plaza. We return to our Petra hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 13 – Friday, October 28, 2022 - Petra
Today we drive to the airport for our flights back home with unforgettable memories.
